Live case study · 30 September 2026
We gave Amazon's own Echo Dot to our AI. One link. No designer.
The Echo Dot is one of Amazon's best-selling smart speakers, with 54,700 ratings. We pasted its link into One-Click and filmed every stage. It built 26 listing images, found 16 faults in its own work, and fixed every one before anyone looked.

Every stage, sped up, narrated
The clock, the stages and every picture come from the recording of the job itself. Nothing was staged after the fact.

Nine stages, from one pasted link
Claude Fable 5.1 does the design. Google's Gemini draws the empty rooms and sits on the judging panel. Times are UK time on the day.

Paste the link, press build
No brief, no photos and no brand guide. Everything else comes from Amazon's own page.

It studies the shelf
It saves Amazon's 13 listing photos and reads the top "smart speaker" results to see what a shopper compares it with.

It writes its own brand kit
Palette, type and five rules it must follow, all taken from the product page. Every image is built against them.
Times are when the job page first showed each stage; a dot means the stage began and ended between two of the page's 15-second snapshots. After stage 9 the tool's own checks and three rounds of fixes ran until 13:14.

Its own mistakes, before and after
Automatic checks go over every image. Each fault goes back to the designer with the reason and gets rebuilt. 16 in all; here are five.

Fourteen images across seven modules, plus a separate phone version. Scroll inside each frame. The upload files leave out Amazon's own pins and tabs, so nothing prints twice.

Main image options
Three ways to stand out in search
Each one comes with its risk against Amazon's main-image rules, so the choice stays yours.

Dominant scale
The speaker fills 92% of the square, bigger than every rival tile on the page.

Branded header card
The only tile on the page with a headline: "Alexa, play my music."

Light-ring sound waves
The only saturated colour in a page of white and charcoal spheres.

Option 1 shown in the Echo Dot's own slot in the real "smart speaker" results, captured during the run.
The judging panel
Every image, scored twice
An AI panel scores each image for art, selling, brand and Amazon's rules. Anything under 8.5 goes back to the designer. This is the final panel at hand-over.
The job log · UK time
Two hours and seventeen minutes, as it happened
The Echo Dot link goes in. Build pressed.
It reads Amazon's page, saves the 13 listing photos and scans the top "smart speaker" results.
The designer hands in 9 gallery images, 14 A+ images and 3 main image options. Its own checks had already made it fix 5 rule breaks and 3 claims it could not source.
The checks send 5 faults back. Two main images not pure white. The speaker drawn 2x its real size. Two A+ images that would print their words twice on Amazon.
The judges score all 26 images. Average 9.34; 2 under the bar.Another brand's name in one image, a caption over the product in another. The set is also flagged as too plain.
Third round of fixes: image 6 rebuilt as a close-up.
Final panel: average 9.38, nothing under 8.5. Every check passes.
Packaged: 97 files, every image still editable.
What is real
What the AI drew, and what it didn't
The rooms are AI
Bedside, kitchen, living room and shelf were rendered empty. Amazon's own photo of the Charcoal Echo Dot was placed in at its real size.
One image draws the product
Image 6, the finger tapping the top, was rendered with the speaker and checked against Amazon's photo before it was kept.
A person still decides
Everything lands on one review page. Approve with a click, or ask for a change in plain words. Only the images you change are rebuilt.
